Specific improvements provided by this project include: improved intersection geometries, upgraded traffic signals, and new signal technologies such as long-term signal-to-signal communications and advanced warnings for rural intersections for northbound traffic.

This project would extend Claude Road north, from Faidley Avenue to State Street, potentially including roundabouts at the intersections of Faidley and State Street. This new road would help divert some future traffic from US-281 by providing an alternate north-south route to the local commercial and residential accesses.

Description:
This project would remove on-street parking and restripe the section of Broadwell Avenue from 1st Street to Anna Street, resulting in a three-lane cross section. A three-lane cross section would improve traffic movements due the presence of a center turn lane. This project would also extend Broadwell Avenue from Anna Street to Adams Street, as well as widen Fonner Park Road between Adams and Sylvan Streets.
