    How to participate:

    • Click through the slides to learn more about the plan and give your feedback on potential projects the team has identified as a result of the online survey conducted in late March/early April.
    • Provide a comment at any time by clicking the “Comment” button at the top of the screen. You can close the form to continue through the slides. Please make sure to hit the “Submit” button to confirm that your comment is sent to the project team.
    • The entire session should take less than 15 minutes to complete.

    PLAN OVERVIEW

    Introduction

    The primary purpose of the North Meridian Neighborhood Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan (Plan) will be to identify community priorities for future bicycle and pedestrian projects within the planning area. Projects identified in this plan will promote safe, effective, and convenient walking and biking facilities for residents and visitors.

    Goals and Objectives

    This Plan is being developed with input from the community. Recommended improvements will be designed to meet the following goals and objectives:

    • Increase the safety and convenience of walking and bicycling
    • Improve facilities to meet the needs of people from all age groups
    • Enhance mobility to meet accessibility standards
    • Create economic development opportunities and enrich the walking and bicycling environment to attract visitors

    Take final draft plan to ACHD Commission for adoption

    APRIL PUBLIC OUTREACH

    In March/April we hosted an online survey and asked you to help us identify cycling and walking issues and locations where improvements are needed.

    Click here to view the comments. If you didn’t have the chance to provide input in the spring, please feel free to add your comments to the map.

    Themes of comments from survey results including; beautify the area, we need a bike path, we need bike lanes and improved accessibility.

    PROJECTS UNDER CONSIDERATION

    ACHD relies on your input to prioritize projects that will improve walking and bicycling experiences in your neighborhood.

    Based on your feedback, we’ve identified several bicycle, sidewalk and pedestrian crossing projects.

    BIKE PROJECTS UNDER CONSIDERATION

    In the survey below, please rank the top three bicycle projects you think should be implemented by ACHD or the City. To submit your ranking, please scroll to the bottom of the list and click the NEXT button.

    	Bicycle project level graph includes four levels to determine the type of bikeway needed. The y-axis includes average daily traffic levels in the thousands from 1,000 to 60,000 and the x-axis includes speed in mph from 0 to 60. Level 1 – ideal conditions includes a low-stress bikeway range from 0 to 2,500 vehicles at 0 to 25 mph. Level 2 ranges from 3,500 vehicles at 25 to 50 mph. Level 3 ranges from 15,000 vehicles to 45,000 vehicles at 40 mph to 50 mph. Level 4 requires engineering evaluation at 45,000 to 60,000 vehicles at 50 mph to 60 mph.
